The Fish Story
You have most likely seen the symbol of the fish on a car, a banner, or displayed in a variety of other ways. Sometimes we find five Greek letters within the fish symbol. These letters look similar to our English letters I,X,O,Y,E. Do you know what they mean?
The first letter, in Greek, that resembles our “I” is the first letter of the Greek word for “Jesus”.
The second letter, in Greek, that looks like our “X” is the first letter og the Greek word for “Christ”.
The third letter, in Greek, that looks like our “O” is the first letter of the Greek word for “God”.
The fourth letter, in Greek, that looks like our “Y” is the first letter of the Greek word for “Son”.
The fifth letter, in Greek, that looks like our “E” is the first letter of the Greek word for “Savior”.
Therefore, the symbol of the fish marked by the Greek letters IXOYE means “Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior”.
This is one fish story you can believe- And I hope you do.

Office will be closed, July 4th, and we wish you all a safe holiday and hope to see you Sunday, July 6th. Don’t forget to thank God for our freedom.
